Sanarchive:About
Who writes Sanarchive?
Sanarchive is written and maintained by a global community of volunteers. Its contributors include artists, researchers, students, educators, and independent writers who share an interest in art, culture, and creative history.
Unlike traditional encyclopedias authored by a fixed editorial staff, Sanarchive is built collaboratively. Anyone with internet access can contribute by creating new articles, improving existing ones, correcting errors, or adding references, provided that contributions follow the project’s content guidelines.
Most contributors write under pseudonyms or usernames, reflecting the collaborative and open nature of the project rather than individual authorship. Articles are not owned by single editors; instead, they evolve over time through collective effort, review, and refinement.
Sanarchive encourages contributors to:
- Write in a neutral, encyclopedic tone
- Base content on verifiable and reliable sources
- Avoid personal opinions or original research
- Respect copyright and licensing rules
While anyone can edit most pages, some articles may be temporarily protected to prevent vandalism or to ensure editorial stability. Editorial decisions are guided by community discussion rather than centralized authority.
Sanarchive is an independent project and is not affiliated with Wikipedia, Wikimedia Foundation, or any other external organization. Although it shares a similar collaborative model and uses MediaWiki software, its scope, priorities, and editorial focus are defined by the Sanarchive community itself.
By contributing to Sanarchive, editors take part in a shared effort to document artistic and cultural knowledge in an open, accessible, and enduring form.
